Design for disruption. Learn to lead through it.

Because preparedness is essential, but it’s not enough.

The Truth About Resilience

Resilience doesn’t live in a binder. It never has, and it never will.

It’s more than a plan or a checklist. It’s a capability that has to be cultivated over time.

In individuals. In organizations. In communities.

Resilience doesn’t happen by accident. If you lead in a high-stakes environment, you need to develop it.

Built from Experience

I’m Rachel Porter. I’ve worked in public, private, and non-profit sectors. The stakes and players change, but my mission has always been the same: to build resilient systems and teams that can stand up under pressure.

I built Leading Resilience as a platform to challenge the idea that readiness is enough. I’ve made it my mission to explore what it really takes to lead well when it counts and equip others to do the same.

“Rachel Porter nails it with What Is Emergency Management? It may not be the last word, but it definitely sets the stage for getting the conversation started.”

— RANDAL COLLINS, Ed.D., CEM, DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU
